This restaurant is probably one of the better values at JFK. A sandwich will run you $14, a tamarind shrimp pad thai with excellent flavor is a no-brainier. The food may not be made fresh to order, but when you are at the airport, you do want your food fast. The service was excellent and the value and quality of the food was better than anything one can get at the airport. Some had suggested that were take out sushi options next door, but there were not.

Among the best sushi I've ever had! Definitely worth the stop while waiting for your flight.

Airport food is overpriced; that's a given. But I think these slate of restaurants has kinda overdone concerning the amount of food given. I asked a very specific of the bartender question about the food I was ordering and wasn't given the best information. I definitely would have preferred to order something else.

Good sushi with a couple of creative options. The sushi trio crispy tacos were fresh and tasty. Service was fast and friendly.

Pretty good Asian/sushi. Chef forgot the NO MAYO part of my order so vegan be careful and stress the allergens to be sure your order comes out as ordered. There is a nice bar with a good selection of wine and cocktails too!

The food was excellent; the reviews aren’t lying about the quality and the speed. I sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed the churashi bowl and octopus sashimi. The portion size was in line with my expectations. I so badly want to give this restaurant five stars, but I just can’t do it - not because of food or customer service (the wait staff are extremely friendly and accommodating) but because it’s actually really confusing to know where to sit. There are no signs that say “wait to be seated” or “seat yourself” and I saw so much traffic that would stand at the edge of the restaurant waiting to know how they could be seated. If they can improve their crowd management, it’s five stars for sure! I stood around the edge of the restaurant because I literally had no idea if someone would seat me or if I needed to do it myself. Just this simple fix would make this my go-to destination in Terminal 5

Super slow, fairly dirty. Waited 45 minutes to eat (in an airport), people who arrived after us got their food first, the waitress kept having to check forks before finding a clean one to take out, food was poor. Oh, and it’s not like she put the dirty forks in the bin to be clean.

Do not order breakfast here. For $20 we got what was advertised as a short stack with eggs and bacon, with a fruit side. The first warning was that we were there for a half hour before anything came and it was all on the same small plate.The plate consisted of 2 3" biscuit discs that were dryer than saltines. One of them arrived broken in half already but you couldn't tell because the "better" one covered it.The bacon was a bundle of what could have been one or two strips but it was impossible to tell as it was all broken up in what looked like a sad tumbleweed.And then there were the eggs. Aside from being burnt crispy, dry, and unseasoned, they probably were eggs at one point in their life but could no longer be called such. Crispy eggs are fine but that's when they are fried not scrambled.The fruit was fine but small for $5.TL:DR You're better off waiting at Starbucks for 30 min (there's one right next to this place)

Terrible breakfast, rude service, bad music, dirty dishes, WAY overpriced..

Only reason it got 3 stars is because the price was the most reasonable in the airport Other than that, they could do wayyyyyyy better with a simple egg and cheese sandwich. It was almost like school cafeteria style meal or worst.

Amazing food quality and incredible fresh ingredients + taste. Unfortunately I couldn’t make pictures from my noodles and sashimi, as it looked so good and I could not break for a picture. So, you just see my starters...Because they didn’t let me enter the Air Lingus lounge (my lounges were in other terminals) I had some hours in this terminal, I am very choosy and this was a great choice for JFK terminal 5.I can advice everyone who wants something light, tasty & healthy before an intercontinental flight...

For being in the worst airport terminal in America, this restaurant isn’t so bad. The food is great.

My go to in JFK. Great food and friendly service.

Total disorganization. Employees did not know how to place orders on the register. Ordered breakfast and some of the food came from the kitchen attached to the restaurant and other parts of it from the restaurant across the concourse. At that restaurant across the way I could not even get service. Back to Deep Blue once my food was delivered their were no utensils provided. The server disappeared and I had to ask customers at another table if I could have the extra setting at their table as my server did not return. They said not to worry as they waited forever for their food. The eggs, bacon and hash browns were cold by the time it came and I was able to get utensils. Also no condiments available. Worst breakfast at a restaurant ever.

Best airport Ramen you will find. Heck, some of the best regardless. Try the Spicy Seafood Ramen.

Sushi is good! Nice place to grab some good food before, or after, a flight.

One hapless waiter and 1 bartender to serve almost 30 patrons on monday evening at 845pm. The food is cooked some where and walked through the terminal into this restaurant. Service is slow and food is expensive for the size of the serving.

It was good, had the bluefin and a hot sake, hit the spot.

Surprisingly good breakfast for a sushi/seafood fusion place. Meat lovers omlette and black coffee, yummy!

Just ok. Had the sushi and it was equivalent to super market sushi. They have other elaborate dishes that I did not try, but if the sushi is mediocre I'm sure the other dishes are too. Spent $16 on a margarita made with sauza tequila (one the cheapest). Happy they didn't add sweetener but it was just cheap-looking and mediocre like the rest of the establishment. Try it it there's nothing else you can eat and you are really hungry.

Nice place to have a drink and a meal while waiting for your flight.

A nice change to ordinary airport food. Shumai was very good and the roast pork with ramen was perfect before a flight. The server Sugi was absolutely fantastic. He was funny, kind, fast, and very efficient. Thank you sugi

Really Good And Made To Order

The food was NOT good quality. It all comes out of the same kitchen of all the sit down places. Probably better off with the take out options!

Food is nothing special and way overpriced. Worse yet, like other travelers who ate there and complained here, it took a long, long time to come. I had the same experience as one person who missed his flight because of the excruciatingly slow service. We showed up at 9:40 a.m., waited 10 minutes to even be approached by the server, and were served our food at 10:10. She said it normally takes 15 minutes to get the food, but we were there for 40 minutes AND missed our flight. DO NOT EAT HERE. It's terribly slow, food is uninteresting and greatly overpriced, and you may even miss your flight.

They didn’t sit us and then left us with a dirty table . No attention . Only one waitress . Desastre

Service was really really slow, food tasted horrible ( breakfast menu on 2-13-2020 ). Prices were way over inflated and the place stunk like dirty mop water. Would not recommend at all.

Price is high and food can take quite a bit of time to come out but it is a yummy spot.

Solid sushi-inspired menu. Food is good but expect the upcharge (it's the airport). Over-reliance on salt and soy masks the flavors, but adjusting for the airport setup, it's fine. Decent selection of sakes, friendly staff and quick service.

Meal was extremely slow, when our breakfast arrived we had to ask for knife and fork to eat with. No butter provided for toast and when we asked for butter it the waitress said she would look to see if there was some left from a diner who had left. Apparently it was to far for her to go and get butter or spread. Meals obviously cooked at a different part of the airport. Very poor.

Great food but PLEASE STOP THAT NOISE some may call music and have mercy on your customers and servers. Nobody should ever be exposed to that kind of noise pollution all day long. Labor laws should be cited!@@Seriously awful.

Delicious food and awesome atmosphere. Great place to stop while waiting for a flight at JFK airport. Had the teriyaki chicken bowl. Yum!!!

I ate the fried rice here and it was 50% just oil. The quantity is very small too.

Water tasted like syrup, overpriced airport food. Basic at best. Friendly server, but never came back to see if we wanted more coffee or tea.

This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Our order was very simple and they managed to forget one bagel. After asking for it we waited another 15 minutes and nothing came. When we decided to leave and pay the bill, it took another 20 minutes because in order to pay by card the manager had to come down and never did. So I had to run to the ATM, come back, hand over my bills and had to wait again because they didn't have any change!!! Super expensive, super late, super annoying. Sheer incompetence. Avoid this place like the plague...

I just had a quick glass of prosecco and the bartender - Trisha - was one of the loveliest, strong women I have met in my life. She had a smile on for everyone who sat down at the bar, and was simply amazing. The company should know they have a wonderful employee representing them at JFK!

Ouick and simple. I had chicken rice bowl and was rushing for a flight. reasonable value for JFK, food was average but the service was excellent.

Got breakfast on our 3 hour layover. Was pretty average. I don't remember the price, but I think it's pretty average for airport cuisine.

Airports are not notorious for good food or good service. But this place definitely has me impressed! The food is actually quite good and the service is superb compared to any other place here! If you're just looking for a quick drink on your layover or a worth while bite to eat.. I'd highly recommend this place! And truly plead to not try anywhere else in the vicinity.

Never try this unless you have over 1h away from boarding. I had 50 minutes and had my dinner there which made me miss my flight. I had to stay at the TWA hotel for another night which cost me another 300 dollars. The serving seemed to be lasting forever. Food was okay but not that good as expected. The organization was awful, and they didn’t know how to increase their efficiency.

Long layover at JFK, was craving some light protein and fish after weeks of beef, pork, potatoes. Ordered an edamame appetizer, dragon roll (salmon, spicy tuna, avocado), followed by tuna nigiri and Sapporo on tap. It was all pretty refreshing; the nigiri was only OK by normal standards but good by airport-sushi standards. Chill, attentive staff, nice tables, downtempo ambiance. Worth it if you just need to decompress for a bit with non-fried fare.

Pretty good for airport food. If you have an hour to spare, it's a good place to sit down and have a bite.

Love the food and the service is excellent
